The day he was born, it changed my life. I never thought I could love someone as much as I love him. I was against him being born when I found out my mom was pregnant. It always crossed my mind that we were going to have different dads, and with that in mind I always thought he wouldn't really be my brother. When my mom told me she was pregnant I cried, almost every night because I was against it. When he was finally born everything about me changed.
I was at the hospital when he was born, just waiting and waiting to see him. He was born in the morning and later in the afternoon I got to hold him. He was the first boy in the family, and only my mothers second child. We have different fathers but at the time it didnt matter. When i got to carry him and smell that new born baby smell i was amazed. He looked at me in awe, the same way i looked back at him. He was already strong he had a tight grip on my hair, and never let it go.
I held him all through visiting hours, which was from 12 pm- 8pm, he was something more than a regular baby doll, he was real. Matthew was his name, and he was the whitest baby ever. He had blue eyes, and a head full of brownish hair. To me he was perfect. He helped me realize that being selfish is stubborn. When he was home he became more real to me, ever since then my life has changed. He has taught me to be more open to new things, and I love him to death. So thanks to my brother I have learned to appreciate more things in life.
